Great video!! And by the way, I'm commenting on the eleventh, and no baby belugas!! Back to the video, I saw the show and I loved it! I check back here every day, then I saw this post and I'm like, WOW, something for Fantasea! A lot of people would think that it's either A. Boring or B. Mocking the animals.

I thought Fantasea was boring. It seemed the only person who was meant to enjoy is the child who is picked to help out. WAY TOO MANY VIDEOS!!! I liked the old show better. I was bored and so were my children. What a waste of a 30 minutes.

next time you see the show try taking in the beauty of the animal. Appreciate the animals for what they actually are, not the attraction that many patrons expect to see. The animals in the show are some of the most intelligent animals on earth. Think about that, as opposed to trying to get the best rush out of the show. The show is a fantastic tool in conservation. Keep up the wonderful work Keepers!

I agree with Kathleen above--Fantasea was boring. We saw it today as a family. I can't tell you how disappointed we were. It was more like a circus than a showcase of the animals. Too much about the intense films and not enough about the incredible animals and their trainers. We don't need (or want) the cheesy story with the "random" girl from the audience--we're smarter than that. And what a shame to close off that incredible view and show us a movie--we can go to any theater for that. I don't think any of us came away feeling we knew more about or had a personal connection with the animals as in years past. I can only hope that the Brookfield Zoo dolphin show does not follow suit! Thank goodness the rest of the aquarium is incredible in itself.

Uggh, that was really embarassing to watch. 10 minutes of video telling us how the animals were going to be the center of the show rather than actually seeing them. Then what looked like a 2nd rate cirque de soleil (although they never use/abuse animals in their shows) production that managed to bore my three year old presumably the target audience. The lack of great sitelines to even see the animlas was the kicker to the experience. One could also wonder what a hawk has to do with the aquarium but leave that aside. I left trying to decide who had been more exploited us or the aninmals.

I have been to the Shedd Aquarium several times and am rarely disappointed with the material they present. However, my experience at Fantasea was beyond excruciating, and the fact that the animals were hardly the center of attention only made things worse. Such a production belongs in a grade school auditorium rather than the Shedd, and was (as benjamin leis stated) embarrassing to watch.
